Dhikr is indeed the summum bonum of the practices of Islam as it helps with perfecting one's moral and ethical conduct. It must, therefore, be adored in line with the zeal of the commonplace euphemism dast ba kar dil ba yar (the hand to work and the heart to Friend i.e. Allāh the Almighty), leaving no moment of time vacant of dhikr and in a state of inattention. The Honourable Shaikh Ḥaḍrat Abū Anees Muḥammad Barkat 'Ali Ludhianvi (RA) put forward his own five pronged programme for the Muslim Ummah's welfare and ethical regeneration of praiseworthy behaviour all round, both esoteric and exoteric, to coincide with the late General Zia al-Haq's Five Point Plan for Economic Regeneration for Pakistan in late nineteen seventies.
