Dhikrullah has been Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat Ali’s life long commitment. As such the book is not a dossier of the Awar (pl for wird), Wazaif (pl for wazifa) and adhkar (pl. for dhikr), but it argues its necessity for the purification of one’s self (tazkiyya-i-nafs) and self-mortification (Mujahidiah) to eventually progress to the state of having nafs-i-mutma’inna (the satisfied self).
