My Journey in Sulook is the English translation by Dr Muḥammad Iqbal of the author Ḥaḍrat Abū Anees Muḥammad Barkat ‘Ali’s (1911 – 1997 CE) hand written Urdu/Arabic original compiled vide the title Anta Ḥabībi Yā-Rasūl Allah and published first time by his daughter Ṣaḥibzadi Anees Akhtar at Al-Muqam an-Najjaf aṣ-Ṣaḥḥaf al-Maqbūl al-Mustafain, Camp Dār-ul-Eḥsān, Faisalabad, Pakistan, 11 Rajab Al-Murajab 1426 AH.
The book unfolds a stunning and most captivating tell-tale of the Sālik (Pilgrim) Ḥaḍrat Abū Anees Muḥammad Barkat ‘Ali, in passionate and ardent love with Allāh the Almighty and His Beloved Messenger Muḥammad |, on his Journey (Sūlook), commanding ultimately the unique position in faqr and becoming the pivotal head, Qutūb al-Aqtāb, of the congeries of living Awliyā’ Allāh of his time. The Anta Ḥabībi … is the sequal to Dr Iqbal’s well-acclaimed To My Shaikh with Love (pp 460) which is highly recommended for an insight into the author’s detailed life story.
